Although I'm a little bit of a delay when testing the beta version of this browser, I purposely didn't jump into testing it right away in the early stages because of early release bugs. I'm currently testing it right now while using ScribeFire 2.0.2 to write this blog, which is pretty cool because it is integrated into the browser. Firefox 3 as it stands is also way faster than the previous release, so it's an incentive to try out the new browser even at it's beta stage. While most add-ons are incompatible at the moment, I'm pretty sure that the extension developers are working on the compatability and will release once Firefox 3 becomes an official release.
Right now, I'm just excited to test this out and I set it as my default browser so I can use it on a daily basis. Since it's lightweight (less memory hog), I feel that my computer is less bloated and faster. It's just too bad that Firebug is not officially compatible with it yet since I use this extension a lot when testing web applications. I think that it's only downfall at this early stage but I'm pretty confident that Firefox 3 will revolutionize the way people browse the Internet despite Microsoft's attempt to mimic Firefox with IE 7. Until then.
As an update, the browser crashed yesterday while rendering a flash media and unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture the message so I can report the issue to Mozilla. It could be a combination of different things such as the extensions that I'm using may not be suited just yet for the Firefox 3 or vice-versa. At this point, there's still some issues in regards to rendering multimedia. So far, I can clearly say that this new version is truly light-weight and uses way less resources than the previous release.
