Sticking to the program

Today is a day when I worked out without my MP3 player and it was almost as tough as it gets since distractions are everywhere in the gym. In my mind, I pictured each set to be more focused on quality rather than quantity. This is probably the main reason why I was able to finish in under an hour. I have noticed lately the increased amount of gym-goers and how this can make transitioning between equipments a lot more difficult. Even at 9 p.m., the gym was full especially the cardiovascular equipments. I was forced quite a few times to do a different exercise since there is no way in the world that I would for another person to finish his/her set.

At times, I felt that my routine was out of whack and it seemed like the number of sets that I need to fulfill is undetermined. Tonight, I made the mistake of not sticking to my normal routine and it was quite understandable based on circumstances at hand. Not having the equipment when I needed it forced me to pursue a different viable option for an exercise. When I started doing another 4 set of the same exercise that I did 10 minutes ago, I knew back in my mind that I have to end this work out. My main philosophy of working out in sticking to the program and keeping my working within an hour got me back on track. I know that an additional amount of set to my routine is pointless and rather counter-productive the least. I came to a realization that my workout always should be quality over quantity since muscle building is what I'm aiming for.

Out of topic. Tonight, after a few days of evaluating reviews after reviews, I finally purchased my first investment for 2008. I purchased Oster hair fast clipper since my $5 hair clipper that I bought from Walgreens doesn't work correctly anymore. I started shaving my own head since last month and the cheap clipper that I bought paid for itself after my first use. The satisfaction that comes with doing it myself is the money that I save every couple of weeks. The thing that I dislike about my old hair clipper is it catches my hair and as well as it takes an hour to complete due to its dull blades. The hair clipper that I purchased cost me $54 after shipping and I figured that it will pay itself off after 3rd use since I pay $20 each time I go to a barber shop to get a haircut. It will definitely be worth it and I figured that this should last me forever since this is more of a professional grade and I've seen the model in some salons and barber shops in the past.
