My unsuccessful escape from Vista

I have a Toshiba (Model A135-S4427) laptop that I purchased 5 months, pre-loaded with Windows Vista basic. It has 1GB ram and 1.73 mobile dual core--you think it would be enough right? Wrong. I guess it was my fault not going with the 2GB ram on my purchase but I didn't not much of Vista back then and thought that 1GB with suffice my needs. If you do graphics, you'll need at least 2GB and it doesn't matter whether you're working with a single layer or 100--1GB is not enough for anything, unless you're doing minor computer works. My problem with Vista is it crashes a lot and it will declare the running application "un-responsive" within any means even if it's just a slow down in the application. It wouldn't even give you the option to wait for it to respond again in most cases.

I then decided to switch back (down grade) to XP but guess what, the recovery CD doesn't have the drivers that support XP functions such as wireless LAN, which is what I needed the most. I researched this issue and concluded that Toshiba didn't include support for XP and all the drivers provided are exclusively for Vista only. I guess I'm stuck in Vista for a while and all I can do is upgrade to 2GB or even 3GB if that's even possible. Undecided
